I just bought my filters at the International dealer this week. He asked if they were for a Ford. I asked him why he was asking. He said that when he put the part # ( the one ending in "93") that I gave him in the computer, it tells him to use the other part # for Ford applications. I'm sure they must charge you more $$ for the other part #, so I told him to just get me the ones that I asked for, as I know those are the right ones.
Just called the IH dealer today and he wanted the Part#'s or the VIN. I worried they might not want to sell for Ford so I just went here and copied down the part #s I need and will hit the place on the way home. They are open until midnight! whooohoo.
My IH dealer is great. I always get my filters there for about $40 less than the Ford dealership. I have gone there for sensors and other parts too, and they always try to help me out. Alot of times they will tell me that due to the contracts between Ford and International some parts are restricted for them to buy, but I always try them first. They told me the last time I went in that if I had any 7.3 buddies to send them their way because their are no parts restrictions for that engine.
Seems like every part I have gotten from the ford dealership has an international part number written on the packaging with a ford sticker slapped on it. I wonder if there is much of a mark up that goes with that sticker.

It seams like the mark up is approximately 30%. I had a part guy at the dealership explain to me why they are concerned is its for a Ford... its because they are not legally allowed to sell parts for Ford's its part of the contractual agreement between the two companies.
Bring the international part numbers and don't tell them its for a Ford. Most will not care but the odd dealer might!
I found that I could buy the filter at the international house $35 and change, take it to a local shop have them change it $30 and save $10buck vs buying it from the cheapest ford dealer in lubbock. Even advanced auto was $30+ cheaper than ford for the same filters. I don't even worry. I just ask for the vt275 fuel filters. dosent bother me a bit.
Are these the latest and greatest. I want to keep the PN's in my owners manual so I don't have to look for them every 5k miles.
Oil: 1840752C91
Fuel: 1847170C93
Your best bet is to ask for the vt275 fuel filters and the vt365 oil filter. That way you don't have to worry if they update part numbers... And they don't question you either.
My local IH dealer does not care to help me out, they always ask is this for a ford? But not that it really matters, they dont carry any racor, only fleetguard. Have to order racor so I just stick with dieselfiltersonline.com
