Clean oil will be of help also. When was the last time it was changed?
Okay excuse my ignorance, but what feeds the HPOP? Is it engine oil and if so does it drain and replenished when you change your oil? If not how often should the HPOP oil be changed?
Sorry for the thread hijacked, but just trying to learn everything about my engine
It is fed by the crankcase oil pump. Yes it does recirculate but not very quickly. I have never sucked mine out in all these years and miles, but my truck is for the most part so trouble free I tend to let sleeping dogs lay.
Well my oil is changed every 5k just like my government studies say and ment no harm but you guys want to jump for some leg, you'll never see, so be it, if you get HIV I won't tell you to brush your teeth. Couldn't help but notice none of you skirt defenders had any good advice, Thanks again to the real GUYS!!
It's fairly obvious young lady. The gentleman joined a few days ago, got his question answered and is going out of his way to make sure his next question is taken care of in a timely manner. Might be a good idea to work on his ability to hold his breath though with that attitude.
Alright well, apparently I'm just a "skirt" (with HIV no less) and the rest of you are just "skirt defenders". Oh and we're all just a bunch of idiots. Is that what I'm hearing?
I can't help but be disappointed at this reaction to the FREE and HELPFUL advice everyone so graciously volunteered here.
We'll see if you are met with the same friendly attitude the next time you post with a problem.
As a helpful hint to anyone else who's truck is down and out because of CPS. The one I got from Autozone had an o-ring for a seal. Try as I may I could not get it in the hole. My oldest son and I used pry bar and it actually cut the o-ring rather than go in the hole. I took the seal off the oridiginal CPS and used it. It sealed and as a precaution "don't throw away the seal' until you know you have a new seal in place. By the way Markadeck, if your truck won't run, after you change the oil, be sure and check tire pressure. Smokin (all in your head) whats wrong with your eyes?
Thanks again to all the helpful guys.

For some reason I suspect you may be done getting any answers anymore from the folks in the 99-03 7.3 diesel section of FTE.

I actually went in for the recall (maybe you should check recalls) and got a FREE CMP (actual Ford speak for cam position sensor), then bought a spare to keep in the glove box (along with a socket, 10mm I think) to prevent the exact situation you are in (I prefer preventative maintenance to corrective maintenance).
I've never met a more helpful bunch of people than here on this site. I've seen people go hours out of their way to try and help a fellow PSD owner stuck in the boonies when they could have stayed home and slept between work days. Nobody here is trying to give any bad information. Most of us aren't ASE certified but have experienced the same things that others are going through and are just trying to pay it forward. Just because it wasn't the problem doesn't mean it couldn't have been the cause of your symptoms. Any given problem can have a lot of possible causes. Anybody can armchair quarterback after the game and analyze all the bad plays, but during the game any play can be a touchdown before the snap.
It's unfortunate that you've decided to take your frustration out on those trying to help you. It's hard to diagnose anything from a computer screen.
Nobody's perfect, not even your Ford dealership that's 30 miles away.

I believe the title of the thread YOU started, soyousee, was something about a fuel problem, which is what everybody was trying to help you with. Maybe next time you should flatbed your rig to your Ford dealership 30 miles away and find out how much it costs to diagnose a "my truck won't start" problem.
Don't worry, Markadeck, I'll still be your friend...
The Title was "Fuel Problem (I think)" Thanks for your imput Brian42, I'll check with Ford. By the way the people trying to help me have not been Making a big deal out of what started out as a joke on my part, along with my "Many Thanks" for your help. There are always those that will run over the new guy on a forum just to up their POST count, not caring that the new guy surely didn't try to be mean to people who have just helped him. Some people just don't live in the real world where your whole operation revolves around the truck. Hauling Equipment,Stock, Feed, Hay, and Hands. My Thanks were Heart Felt.
I don't want to speak for others, but you certainly didn't seem heartfelt. I think your 'joke' backfired as it was not humorous at all. Several people seemed downright offended and you did not change your tone. I don't make a living with my truck (it's my daily driver though) but nobody wants to see a PSD owner suffer any down time.
I don't think Smokin' and Markadeck understood it was a joke either. As for post count, I'm not sure what the goal is or if there is some kind of status to be gained, but I'm pretty sure that 228 posts in almost 2 years is on the low side. I just felt strongly enough to defend those that have helped me out so much over the last 2 years.
This is the first post that I've hijacked and I apologize...

Indeed, I was personally offended by the "joke", especially since the chiding tone didn't desist once I made it obvious that I was bothered by the comments.
I felt as though I was being belittled simply because I am female. To add further insult to injury, none of us said anything to warrant the comments to begin with.
As far as living in the real world? My truck is my daily driver. It doesn't run, I don't go to work, and I don't get my bills paid. Most of us here understand that it's more than just a hassle when a vehicle isn't operational.

I finally did find something humorous in one of his posts. The post count comment. What is that all about? I am 65 years old, I am going to worry about something as childish as post counts? I have a simple cure for dealing with folks with attitudes. You can sure bet I don't lose any sleep over my cure either.
