Where I can drill and tap in the Y pipe to put the fitting for the MAP hose: in the part close to the clamp for the turbo or in the cast pipe that goes to the hot side pipe?. or it doesnt matter?.

thanks in advance.

Sorry Jose. I didn't see this one till just now. It doesn't really matter where just as long as its near the turbo outlet or in the hot side pipe.

No problem, thanks a lot. And how did you block the original fitting of the hose? because IIRC its in the intake plennum, righ?

not sure where the hole was originally but there are holes that need to be filled. YOu can have them welded or tap then for a plug (Pipe thread)

Tim, I was refering to the little fitting where the hose from the MAP goes and connect to the motor (passengers side) originaly, not in the new early 99 Y pipe. sorry if I didnt explain myself.

You could also weld a bung into your hot side IC pipe just downstream of the boot/clamp.

Well after reading the comments, I think I will install the fitting in the hot side IC pipe, as you mentioned. I supposse that the boost reading will be the same in that position, and the turbo lag will decrease as well.

Thanks to all of you.

Jose I don't believe my bolt to be leaking. I think I put a hose clamp on it as well.

Here is a pic of where I put mine:

As for the original spot, I did what TJ did for a while then I found a plug/cap to go over it with a hose clamp.
Good Luck

Oh, that pics is what a was looking for, questions: did you have any troubles with taping the cast? and it was a 1/8 or 1/4" pipe thread fitting? did you use some tape or liquid to seal that threads?. Barely I can see the original spot with the hose there, right? do you have a pic of the plug/cap? and finally where did you buy the black boots from the Y pipe to the plennums?

Oh, that pics is what a was looking for, questions: did you have any troubles with taping the cast? Nope, It drilled and tapped great. and it was a 1/8 or 1/4" pipe thread fitting? I belive it is 1/4" but I just picked up the fitting that went into the hoces for the map sensor and then drilled itand tapped it to that sive but I am pretty sure it is 1/4" did you use some tape or liquid to seal that threads?. Umm its been a while but I belive I used lock tight in the threads Barely I can see the original spot with the hose there, right? Yes I think it is the hose at that time do you have a pic of the plug/cap? NO I do not. My camera broke so I dont know when I can get one for you. The hardware store shold have something the cap th end off.and finally where did you buy the black boots from the Y pipe to the plennums? At Intakehoses.com, they are 2 1/2" to 2" I belive. Tehy are a little too long so you will have to trim them down some to fit. about 1/2" on both sides of each boot. The correct size would be 2 3/8" to 2" but the 2 1/2" works fine and I have had no problems yet

I think I answered them all check out the Blue Let me know if you have anymore questions.
