If those pipes are anything like the 87-93 mustang s, all you need to do is first, remove the pipes, cut the "heads" off(the part that actually bolts to your cylinder heads, and flip em around! They'll bolt back in but act as plugs since the exhaust will be hitting the flat side of the emissions head. I did this to my engine before I bought the gt40's. worked like a charm!
Ok, I will have to do that, or something like that. I'm keeping the parts in case one day I want to reinstall them to make it original, so I might remove the pipes, and plug the holes with bolts. Evidently, my truck is rare. With respect to that, I want to be able to make it all original again without much work. Also, my truck has power windows, power locks, AC, heat, 4x4, and cruise control. My truck as a Flareside is probably pretty rare with all of those options.
Ok I'm getting a little confused. According to the VIN decoder on this sight, and on another sight I tried, my truck is a styleside, but last time I checked, it's a flareside. Digits 5,6,and 7 indicate the bed type. My code is F14. ?? I noticed the decoder didn't acknowledge the 9th digit, which is a 5 in my case, whatever that indicates. Also, the decoder says it's a Class E, 6,001-7,000 pounds... what does that mean?
