Schaeffer's moly is refined to .7 microns for greases and they use Micron Moly in theire oils...No way to clog any bypass filter. I had the Amsoil bypass filter and if you have the BMK-16 model you would be wise to get rid of it. Amsoil finally came out with a newer model after the problems with the BMK-16.
Don't believe the advertisements - do some more research - there are other PAO oil options than spending $33 a gallon.

BMK-16 refers to the whole assembly, using the EA026 (15 microns) with the EaBP100 (2 micron). What portion was redone, and why??

Pat, the issue was in the assembly/design, not in the filters. Amsoil's filters have always been good. That specific dual bypass setup had some issues. Some folks on TDS & PSN that were using it and doing used oil analysis (UOA) showed higher than normal iron wear numbers - including myself.
I'll try to find the specific post with all the details..... but I'm getting ready to hit the road soon.......
Now that Syn Rotella is friggin' $22/gal at WM, I will be looking hard at Schaeffer 9000 on my next OC. The PITA of getting it is a bit more tolerable now that I can't get a decent syn oil at WM for $16 anymore.
Well-here is my experience with Amsoil- I bought my '03 Kenworth T-600, with a C-15 cat@ 500 HP brand new. Drove it home, dumped the oil and filters, installed Amsoil filters and oil. Every 30,000 miles I do an oil sample, every 70,000 miles (give or take a few hundred) I change the filters and add make up oil. The C-15 cat currently has 768315.9 miles on it and the last time the oil plug was removed was the day I bought it. The oil samples come back good, the engine has only experienced a turbo failure, which was more of a waste gate prob than the turbo itself. I recently ran the overhead and decided to check the cam bearings while into it. The cam bearings are still in like new condition, with very minimal wear on the journals and cam lobes as well as the followers. A compression test showed all 6 cylinders within 12 PSI, wet and dry. A visual inspection of the front structure showed no abnormal wear on timing components. Oil pressure runs a constant 68 psi at normal operating temps under full engine load.
Now, I am not a dealer for Amsoil, but I believe their oil is superior and well worth the cost when you use it according to their recomended intervals and service guidelines.
By the way, this C-15 is currently running an average fuel consumption of 7.36 MPG, with average loads at 30,000 lbs.
How Amsoil performs for you is impossible to know, but for me it has saved me, so far in oil changes, Approx. $11,115.00. I intend, after the recent inspection, to keep this engine in service well over 1 million miles, with one more oil change due next month.
There ya have it-my experience! Hope it helps!
There are a few dealers in hanford, which according to your location is only 18 miles away.

Jorge, ask the dealer about buying by the case to save money. When I caleld, the dealer told me that it would cost about $100 for 4 gallons. He then proceeded to say that with the case discount, you could get 6 gallons for only $10 more!
For the first couple changes, I would go about 6K. Then afte that I would run 12K with OA.
its actually not that much of a difference if they want $110 for 4 gals its $6.87 a qt vs. $7.09. Plus this place only sells by the quart or 55gals I am gonna try the other place and see what they want.
