BeltMinder volume
This may be a blessing to some but it's an annoyance to me. The BeltMinder's volume on my 05 Expy EB is extremely low. I see the flashing reminder on the instrument cluster before I hear the chime and usually just about the time I notice my wife's not wearing her seatbelt. It is MUCH louder on her 05 Freestar. I've looked under the dash and think I can see the chime module/speaker. My question is: Can anyone think of anything that the previous owner might have done to reduce the volume of the chime? I know that this is usually just the opposite of what folks are wanting to do but I want to increase the volume to remind my wife to wear her seatbelt. It saves lives...mine x 3 so far (none were my fault, wrong places, wrong times, idiots on the road). She's bad about not wearing it. I lied to her (slaps own hand) and told her that it could not be disabled in the vehicles but she soon caught on that the Expy was much quieter and wanted me to do the same to her's. I lied again and said it must be defective and needed repair
. Her response..."break mine". Anyone got any idea/guess? I'm going to pull the kick panel off when I get off this week to get a closer look but 'till then I can only brainstorm on it. Thank You for such a GREAT forum!!!

I thought about tape on the speaker and looked this morning without taking the kick panel off. I can't tell where the chime is...it's like when the battery needs to be replaced on a smoke detector, it sounds like it's coming from everywhere. On another thought...the "Key in Ignition" chime sounds like it's the same one and is about at the same level of sound. I'll have to listen to the one in the van to see if it's as loud as the Beltminder. One more night to go and I'm off for a couple of days so I'll get to pull the panel off then. It's a small thing I know.
Thanks Guys!!
