In my usual fashion, I've 'helped' my two youngest kids (17 and almost 13 yrs old) with their Mom's Christmas gifts. (Both with $$$ and I picked the stuff up!)
"They" got her two Vera Bradley handbags, which she loves (gag me with a spoon).
"They got her a new shower massage unit" that Dad is going to install. (My son's idea.)
"They got her a new coat to wear to work."
I'm left with no more decent ideas.
My wife 'claims' that she doesn't want anything. (Yeah, right!)
She does get virtually whatever she wants through the year, which honestly, isn't much.
My wife has 'hinted' that she wants a 'small, flat-screen tv' for her office, but, she said that she doesn't want me to buy it, she wants to pick it out.
Now, with that said. . . she and my 17 yr. old daughter are travelling to Florida, in January, to look at colleges.
Because of work (me) and school for the boy, he and I are staying behind.
Should I give my wife some $$$ for the trip and let her spend it as she sees fit?
Should I buy the flat-screen TV??
Should I throw my hands in the air and beg for mercy!?!?!?
you could get her a nice plush robe and stuff like that to go with the shower gift, and maybe give her a gift card for some SPA nearby the schools in Florida that she will be going to visit (make sure to put enoguh money for both your wife and daughter)...maybe hide the giftcard in the robe's pockets for added surprise value
also if she got new purse....she will want a matching wallet (can also put the gift card in there as well....perhaps get a super cheap wallet as joke and put the expensive gift card in it)
The plush robe sounds good, with the gift card in a pocket, but, she doesn't like 'just any robe'.
Keep the ideas coming!
well go to a nice store and get helped to find a nice one, or perhaps ask a friend/co worke for help (don't buy on-line since you can't really "feel" the material and it's probably too late anyway)...
you gotta give more info about your wife in order to get more ideas....

Does she like coffee?.....I bought my wife a cappuccino/ expresso machine couple years ago, She loves it!........The only catch.....She cant operate it, so I end up being the "coffee guy".

Buy her a set of those noise cancelling headphones (they also work for mp3 players and tv's) and an IOU for a flat screen TV. When she is ready to pick it out you will go with her and buy it.
