the warranty would still be there, i think as long as you didnt jack with the tranny he would still warranty it. and if you did have warranty issues it would be out of your pocket to send it back to get fixed. but i highly doubt that you will have any warranty issues with it.
If you make an appontment with BTS (lead Hill, Arkansas) you can drive down there, stay at the hotel next door, then the next day they will install your tranny, take a test drive, and make any adjustments - then send you on your way. Many folks have done it that way - and with a 2 year unlimited warranty - you can't beat it.
that wouldnt be bad but a big hassle to get my truck down there. and a 2 year warranty is awesome. i understand what your saying i just dont think that will work

if im not mistaken it would be around 300. you should give brian a call tomorrow he would be able to tell you the ballpark better than i could. and at these fuel prices, i bet it wouldnt cost not much more to have it shipped.
yeah i hear you on fuel prices but thanks alot to all. i got the numbers for john woods and bts to compare and whatever else. i will give a call tomarrow!
so can i install my own tranny? sounds like i have to take it in to get it done in that case i will just get a rebuild from the local tranny shop.
I just gotta say it, you get a lot of pressure here to go to certain builders, but you don't have to have a BTS or John Woods transmission. If you intend to do extreme towing or horsepower, they are probably a good idea, but for a stock truck that doesn't tow a lot, a stock transmission will do just fine.
I've actually heard good things about Ford's heavy duty rebuilds. And if you go to a local shop, just make sure they have a good reputation, if you know what you want tell them, they should be able to build it with upgraded hard parts, tugger reprogram kit, triple disc TC, or whatever you want or need.
Of course, I'm sure JW and BTS transmissions are as great as everyone says they are, but it doesn't mean they are the only option.
JMO, good luck, and as always, my flame suit is on.
hey thanks clux. i would rather not go that option. i know a guy from around here and he is on his fourth tranny in a few years. he has an edge prog. i believe. i dont know if he has hd parts though

I agree, it would be great to have a BTS, or John Woods, but when it comes down to it, you have to do it so that it takes care of your needs. I paid 1903.00 local, I have the tripple disk torq, I have kevlar clutch packs, new valve body, upgraded pump, and a transgo kit. It doesnt come with that outstanding warranty of 2 years ( 1 year, unlimited miles ). And I dont get to brag about my tranny, but my truck runs, I am happy!!!
