Just wanting to know what the downside to going to stage 1's would be. Lower mpg's higher egt's harder on engine dont really know just really thinking of the DIY kit. Thank You.
EGT's will be higher but not unmanageable. MPG can stay the same but it will depend on driving habits. other than that is will/can stress you transmission unless you beef it up some. It will need a cooler and shift kit at the minimum. A torque converter may be int he stars as well. And a full built when it does go.
Other than that you may go though more tires, beat more rice burner, get more speeding/smoke tickets, get more thumbs up when you smoke a D-max or Cummin's, and of course there is always the dreaded Perma-Grin! Man the first week of that thing sure makes for some sore cheeks!
Thank you I can handle the tranny going down the road not a big deal. Never heard of anyone up here getting a smoke ticket but I guess I can try to see what they say I guess I will get that kit ordered and do them and my IC at the same time.
Normal driving unloaded, I have no smoke or EGT worries. They can smoke like crazy in situations where you're loaded and at low RPM and low boost, like upshifting a manual in my case. I hate when I'm loaded heavy and have to stop at the bottom of a hill, get's a little smoky after shifting when trying to get up to speed. EGT's can be excessive if towing in a higher power tune and no IC, the addition of an IC helped me big time. I got 17.9 mpg on my last fillup running mostly unloaded, sure can't complain about that. All said, it was definately worth it to me, the power difference is unbelievable compared to stock.
haven't been on in a while due to broken computer can u run the stage 2's without a tuner. i due plan on getting one soon or should i go with the stage ones i just got a boost and pyro i have one injector not firing like the others i don't just wanna replace one the old ones have 245k on them i really think its time to replace and upgrade what do you guys think?

nothing unless you dont like performance
there are a few supporting mods you will want to look into but stage 1's are a great start (like i did) for someone just jumping into 'Strokes!
