Need Opinions....
Hi guys. I have a problem with my 97PSD. Now that it is getting colder out, if I let it sit for a few hours or when I first start it in the morning, I get alot of white smoke and I mean alot. After startup if i run it, its starts fine for a few hours after that, but if it sits for 6 hours or so I get all the white smoke again. Im thinking it could be bad injector o-rings. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this????

how cold is it? white smoke is normal for our motors, and the more fuel you are throwing at it then the more cold start smoke you will get. if it is excessive and rough running then you may have a few dead glow plugs. you can ohm them out through the valve cover harness.

for comparison, here is my truck on a cold start in mid 30's weather.

Right now it gets down to around 50 at night. I just replaced the glow plugs in Febuary along with the valve cover gaskets. I forgot to mention with no load on the engine right around 2200-2500, it spits and sputters out white smoke also, but when driving the truck you cant notice it.
P.S. Coonhunter, my truck smokes about 10 times worse then yours in the video!
