Electrical Problem..HELP!!!

I have a Ford F-250 truck with a 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel. Recently I was trying to wire a trailor up to the 7 pin connection in the bed of the truck. I had the bare wires from the extension exposed and 2 things happened. First the ground wire ( white wire ) touched the bed and I saw a minor spark, from then on there seemed to be no ground connection when I tested the lights out in the trailor. As the brakes were applied the trailer lights went out all together and same thing with the blinkers. I had the hazard lights on trying to figure out the problem and I think another wire touched the metal bed or something and the blinkers all went out. still had running lights, no blinkers also ABS light flashes and the truck will not go into gear at all!!! Any idea what got burned up and what needs replaced? I checked all the fuses, all looked good. my phone is 435-245-0212 or e-mail is theoberdings@yahoo.com . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much. Fred Oberding

You should not get a spark from a ground wire touching ground (bed).
There is something wrong IMO. You need to get the ground circuit repaired or figured out before you can go any farther. Most trailer issues are ground related.

Fred,
When you say the truck wont go into gear do you mean it wont come out of park?

Are you sure all the fuses are good? I think you missed one.

The # 13 fuse in the cab is for the brake lights, the 4 way flashers, the ABS sensor and the shift lock. It's a 15 amp that is at the very top on the fuse panel and is the only one in the area that is horizontal.
