i have a 200o f250 v10 on the door sticker it has axle code with nothing under it and above it rc: 44 didnt see the 44 code on the threads with all the code breakdowns any ideas
thats about the only thing on the truck from factory not there i just got it 2 months ago with 160k and it still had the factory air filter in it just to give you and idea on the maintenance that was done, none, but the tag is gone im going to put new fluid in but wanted the ratio cause i think im going to do the 4.30 swap but wanted to see first
FYI: You don't have to count the teeth. When you get the cover off, spin the diff until you see the teeth count etched into the ring gear. It'll look like "42-12" or similar (different #s) just divide the first # by the 2nd.
According to the Ford Trailer Towing Guide I have access to, the standard axle ratio is 3.73. The 4.30 ratio was an option which bumped the gross combined weight rating from 17,000 to 20,000 lbs.
