I'm finding a pattern with 2000 model years. There seems to be a number of them without axle codes.

You can always look on either one of the diff housings for the tag with the ratio.

Your front axle should have a tag bolted to the cover that has the axle code and the ratio.

FYI: You don't have to count the teeth. When you get the cover off, spin the diff until you see the teeth count etched into the ring gear. It'll look like "42-12" or similar (different #s) just divide the first # by the 2nd.

According to the Ford Trailer Towing Guide I have access to, the standard axle ratio is 3.73. The 4.30 ratio was an option which bumped the gross combined weight rating from 17,000 to 20,000 lbs.

My 2000 is blank as well. I was able to find my ratio through the OASIS report under "as-built". (3.73, by the way)

Or rotate the tires and count the number of times the driveshaft turns, or turn the driveshaft and count the number of times the tires rotate.
