FE PCV Hose

Bill tells me that the molded FE PCV hose is not to be had.

Anyone got a real nice one that they will part with? Email through my user name.

Hmmm...it better be the same type as I listed, cuz the 1968 and later hose has different sized ends, so it no workee on '65/67's.

And (knowing lmc's quality), it better be made of neoprene, cuz if it ain't, it won't last very long.

Sure, if you can find the right size molded ended heater hose.

Scheiss, you could use a hose from a vacuum cleaner, but it won't fit worth a damn, and like heater hose, it won't last worth a damn, either.

There is 2 PCV hoses used on the trucks...one which is the most typical from what I have seen is a hose from the PCV on the rear of the RH valve cover to the carb spacer plate which has a nipple in the rear center. This hose, according to the parts catalog is 13" long and can be cut from C3AZ6A664B which i guess to be a roll of hose even though it doesnt say so. There is another hose used on non emission reduction equipped truck(PCV I assume) this version has a hose that runs from the valve cover down the rear and out the side. This is shown in Grp 60 pg 11 top illustration of the Parts Illustration book. I have seen one of the longer hoses on ebay NOS in recent months.

I am looking for the molded one that has appeared on all truck engines that I have owned. It goes from the passenger side valve cover to the base of the carb.

Since Bill says there are none available anywhere, what value are part numbers CS???

You must be using the printed parts catalog. Take a gander at the CD. One a the hoses is molded (C5AZ6A664C), this is the one John wants. Specs: 5/8" I.D. x 20 5/32" long.

The other hose is just 'bulk' smog hose.

Ford sez cut off the required length from a (25ft) roll of C9PZ-6A664-B.

John, I'm gonna look at some later vehicles, to see if I can find something close to the original.

Edit: A cursory glance shows that after 1972, all the various PCV hoses are cut to fit.

I know it's not correct, but...there is a 6' long 5/8" heater hose (C8OZ-18472-B) that Ford sold with a molded end.

We used to sell these, and cut off what wasn't necessary. If you want one, I can prolly find it, as it's obsolete.

Thanks Bill, I am hooked up now, and since I don't do car shows with my hood up I can get by with the red odd ball hose that is on there now.

Just thought it would be cool to try to find one that looks correct. I guess if someone started repopping them they would want $40.00 for one.

I may do some kind of elbow thing or sub another PCV in the hole.

John, I had the same problem as you. A PO rigged up some weird arrangement with decidedly wrong hose that of course would collapse.
I tried a couple different, not-quite-oem arrangements with different breathers, hoses, etc and finally came up with one that uses a big block Mustang hose (repro'd) and a plastic coupler to make the sizes match up. If you want a photo of mine I'll be glad to send it.

Take a look here kiddo for the pic of the plastic adapter that makes a straight piece of hose into a curved piece of hose.

1973/79 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog / TEXT / Section 184 / Page 15. Basic part number: 18573.

Also shown in the 1964/72 truck catalog here = TEXT / Section 182 / Page 12.
