PMT1 - PMT3 diff ??

What if any are the differences between a PMT1 and a PMT3 module? I have heard of a difference in the PMT2 as being setup for towing.

Thanks

For the auto trans I think the difference between the two is the amount of clutch holding pressure. Other than that, I'm not sure what else.

PMT3 has horrible tranny tuning across the board compared to PMT1. With PMT3 when if you floor it the converter unlocks and doesn't lock back until like around 85mph. Well feels like it anyway...

Thanks Diane

That is what I was looking for. Just pulled the PMT3 this evening and dropped in the PMT1. Not much time to road test, but never liked the shift pattern it had before.

Thanks to all who posted.

Saving up for a DP Tuner!

Could one of you clue me into what a PMT is? This has got to be the first acronym on here that I have absolutely no idea what it it.
Thanks in advance.

PMT is just the first three letters of the PCM code. See this link and you will get the idea. Second column is the PCM code. Click Here

Thanks PaysonPSD, it took me a minute but then it came to me.....

Now that raises a question, what can someone tell me about the PCM listed below? Is there a better one in the VDH series than the one that I have currently?
VDH5 2F719S0A?? DPC-462 2C3F-DF 7.3L F-250/350 DIESEL - AUTOMATIC 49S TNAA?S?

Subscribing. I think my PCM code is the same as this. I read the label on the black plug on the back of the PCM and it has VDH5 or UDH5, can't really decipher the U or V. I'm trying to make sure I have the right code so I can order my tuner.

This is a question for Diane or Jody at DP Tuner.

There is no UDHS on the list. You must have a VDHS.

DPC-462(PCM Family code)
VDH (Calibration name)
#5 (is series of the flash)

VDH5 was the last known calibration for the 2002-2003 7.3l federal trucks.

So if I understand this correct, the PCM in my truck is not the original one? My truck is a 2000 and the VDH5 would have been on an 02-03?

Does your water in fuel light stay on?

VDH5 would not be for a 2000.

Diane,
No water in fuel light. Everything seems to function fine. The black plug on the back of the PCM has this on it: 2C3F-DF, VDH5, MPEF208223. The black housing for the PCM is gone and it is ty-wrapped in place. I bought the black housing at the salvage yard because I am going to order your tuner and I would have the PCM out at that time. This really has me confused now. And by all means, THANK YOU so much for your input!!
