For a few weeks now (even before my engine threw a rod) i have been working out a deal on buying a 99 f-350 with a built engine in it, plans to put it in my truck this winter, drop in and go kind of deal, alot faster to do than a Commonrail conversion. I was really turned away from that whole concept after listening to one of my buddy's straight piped 06, sounded like *** to me, however not all of them sound like that.
Here are some pictures. Yes it is a little rough, has had some body accidents that can mostly be fixed with a new bed and tailgate.... However it is a purpose built pulling truck. I bought the truck just for the engine, he has more under the hood alone than i paid for the truck..
not trying to spill the beans, it is going into his truck this winter. is going to put glow plugs and an air filter on it and try and drive it. it doesnt start when cold without ether. the non intercooler deal is new to me, but have to say. its quick!
THIS IS THE BADDEST 7.3 I HAVE EVER SEEN. he took me for a quick spin, from where we left a bit of smoke we turned left went about 3/4 of a mile looked across the feild and still a huge smoke cloud....
