I was wondering what lift kit has the least amount of problems for an 84 F-150. I've heard Tuff Country has some good ones. I want to run 37 inch tires. What should I expect to lift it.
I would second the skyjacker..Rough Country isn't one of the better lifts. It will ride like its name implies...rough...and their not known for their strength or quality.
Nah, I know about Rough Country, this one was from Tuff Country that I saw (maybe Tough?). It was in an article from 4 wheel and off road. They lifted a Bronco and added longer radius arms. All the fabbing it required was to drill holes for the new arm brackets, so it could be returned to stock if it needed to be. I've also heard good things about BDS. What do ya'll think?
i absolutly love my BDS lift, its for an '87 and im pretty sure im going to sell it cause im doin the solid front axle swap. im not sure if the '80-'86 model years will work with the '87-'93 model years but if they do i have a 4-6" lift for the front for sale, the longer radius arms and everything except the springs and coils.
Orange Peel......how much are you looking to get for your lift? And where are you located? My brother is looking for a lift for his f150, and he is gonna use the springs from my bronco after I go to a six. Let me know, Dave
im not sure yet, i need to wait to see how i put the solid front axle under my truck, the person im buying it from owns a 4wheelin shop and knows how to do just about everything to any car. i went and talked to him about what i would have to do since my truck is already lifted, he said he might be able to fab some way to re use my current lift stuff, but hes not sure if he can or not. he needs to look at the two trucks side by side. so untill i know how im going to do the swap im not sure if i can sell the stuff yet. i should find out in about a week or two. ill keep you posted.
Jeff's Bronco Graveyard has pictures, instructions, and of course the kits to do a solid axle swap. I have ordered a few small things from these guys and have always had very good service.
installing the solid front axle isn't that hard of a task I just spent today rattling ideas of lifts thru my head and my next project for a lift is going to be a solid dana 44 front axle getting rid of the TTB and i am going to use a set of air bags off the rear of a Peterbuilt i got the whole frame crossmember and airbags for $100.00
i am currently useing a yorx A/C compressor for a air compressor and i have mounted 2 air tanks along the frame of the truck for on board air the air bags will be hooked up to seperate switchs so i can control the pressure to each bag individually for rock climbing situations this is going to be a fun project
