We started in on the last 400 acres of canola today. Its all on summerfallow and running in the mid 40's - even with the JD running hard, 85 acres is all we could muster!
We ended up with 40000 bushels of oats on piles this year, slightly more than usual.
We also finished baling the 500 bales of straw we needed so thats a good feeling.

Sounds like the yield was higher than you expected Warren, I`m sure you don`t mind going slower in that case.

Our land is in three parcels - one was dry, one was average, and one was great!
Grain prices have fallen sharply though!

Seems like anytime crops are good, the prices fall.

Harvest pictures are cool! Sheldon you should come out here to run some stuff next season if you have any spare time!
We have 200 acres left - had some tire issues on the combine. I was told that new tires are not available for the back of our combine until next fall - WTF is what I said - this sounds like the Soviet Union where equipment sits because they cant get parts. I didnt look any further as my neighbor had a spare one kicking around!

I wish I could spend more time there too but it is awesome to get to help out anyway. (Had to throw the dog in as they seem to be help too even if only riding beside you in the grain truck) BTW that 79 Louisville with a 370 has 177k on it and never been touched despite being rode hard all those years.
