wiring trouble

i bought a 97 f250 powerstroke it has a after market alarm would that keep the key from turning

So the key doesn't turn? I have not heard of an alarm that will lock the key from turning. Are you sure its not just locked from the steering wheel being locked?

I don't believe there is a system that will keep the key from turning. Usually when that happens you just need to crank the wheel a little to one side or the other.

i agree while trying to turn the key rock the steering wheel back and fourth. and welcome to fte
