Looking to get a 05' f150 4x4 with a 5.4....the ad says it has a tick and is common for these trucks. the seller mentioned that a dealership said it was " cam fasers " and not to worry about it??

Is that true???

or is it more on the line of exhuast leaks and or possible valve issue?

i have a 2005 and it has a tick. the owners manual says it's normal and my mechanic says that as well. something to do with the 3 valve configuration. mine also has a little louder tick that comes and goes, but i am not sure if it is the same thing.
