excellent work, grillmaster. I really mean it. The burgers and dogs were tastey.

It was good to see you all again. Sorry we couldn't stay longer.
Thanks Dan for hosting, and thanks to Dee for all of her help too.
Best of luck with your truck!

No the brain trust fixed it... It was 180 deg. out of time.. Seeing that the first squad screwed up the carb so bad we couldn't fire it off untill he gets new gaskets..

The rotor was not pointing to the #1 spark plug..

If you guys took my advice the day before we could have just sat eating burgers and drinking Sammy's..

We may have to wait a few months for Dan to get the carb put back on to see if it fires up..

Whoa, now I'm really confused. We were going off passenger front as #1. Was it driver side #1? I knew it'd be something like this...

No you are correct.. Passanger side was #1.. The problem was that when you lifted the distributor cap the rotor was pointing to the #6 or something 180deg from where it should have been.. We removed the distributor and made sure the piston was at the top, then reinstalled the distributor so the rotor was pointing to the #1..

That should do it, but we will not find out until the carb is put back on once he gets the new gaskets..

I think that is also why it was straining to turn over.. It was working against the compression of the motor..
