Has anyone else had this problem? I've owned the truck since it was new. After about three years, whenever I drove an extended distance, like my yearly hunting trip to New Hampshire from Mass, I'd listen to some good
CD music. After about three years, the CD player started to skip during these trips. First, I thought it was a bad CD, but when I ejected it, it was almost too hot to handle. I felt the dash and it was also hot. After a while, you couldn't get a CD to go into the player unless the truck was off, key out of the ignition and then you had to play with it. Having no patience for this crap, I went out and had a 12 CD player installed that also plays MP3's. Now, the truck is eight years old, but I still like it. Sorry about rambling on. Did anyone else have this problem?
The motors could be failing and drawing extra current and produce more heat. My 6disc gets warm, and the two cd's I've had in the first two slots for the last 3 years had a couple of skip spots.
