I hope oil continues its downward spiral to say $60. And that F-150 sales go through the roof. And you get your job back. When was the yellow regular cab pic taken and WHAT happens to these test trucks? Are they eventually sold as used or what? Thanks for all you insights.
I took that picture in March or April I believe. The truck was going through some electrical tests while on loan to us from K.C. As far as I know the first test builds were givin to suppliers and Ford for testing as well as FoMoCo for PR. Each plant got to keep a few from each batch for testing and for the big wigs to drive around. All of us on the launch team were lucky enough to take one home for a night.

Well I've said before (but the negatards don't want to listen to my posts) That this is the BEST F-150 I have ever driven (I've had a 96, 98 and 04 in the past). The new trans does wonders and the 4.6 3V gets up and goes. This truck is leaps and bounds beyond any previous truck.

Thats good to hear. I will be very happy if it's as good as the 04-08 models.

Right on. I've put quite a few miles on a bunch of different '09s. They're about as similar to the '04-08s as those were to the '97-03s. Just because the door skins haven't changed, some people don't want to believe that everything else hasn't. Go figure.
I'm really impressed with the 3V 4.6 too. It may be partly that the transmission is so much better, but it seems to do most everything the previous 5.4 did, and I can't believe the mileage.

Eventually they're scrapped. They're never sold used. Properly so. Way too much liability. Every Jeffrey Feiger wannabe lawyer drools at the prospect of a product liability suit in which John Q. Public gets injured or killed in a former test/experimental vehicle.
Not to say it isn't sad seeing a carrier full of test vehicles that have finished their programs heading for scrap. It's entirely possible that '09 Ford test vehicles can eventually end up as '09 Dodges--or worse, '09 Toyotas.
