just stating things the way i see them. all it would take is a nasty pothole, found anywhere on a canadian highway-you may have them in the states as well - , to wreck a nice rim... its a heavy truck, might even get used as a truck. personally, though they look durned sweet, i'd save my coin.
it's actually funny, but I agree with you 100% about the 20's being bad for trucks.
That being said,
1. I don't tow...well mostly never
2. I've always planned on buying the 20's with 35" tires so I could have less sidewall flex when at highway speeds and during sudden maneavers
3. the 305/55/20 has a sidewall height of 6"...the 275/65/18 (stockers) has a 7" sidewall
The only reason I'm considering the Terra Grapplers is the price. I've been pricing 285/70/17's for my Durango (the one that needs tires). I refuse to buy a "P" rated tire, so the best price LT tire I've found so far has been $1,080 for 4 tires. a $300 difference is huge
but yeah, ultimately, I want a 35/12.5/20 wheel/tire combo
I may just pick up the Roush rims, and then get the 20" Toyos this spring...that's a thought
Hey tylus where did you find the sweet deal for the rims? just a local one time deal you found or do they deal with take offs?
it was a local deal on Craiglist. the Military guys (like me) out here in Hawaii sometimes get next month movement orders...so they sell their cars rather than ship them
these rims were on a 05 Lariat that the guy was parting out since he is leaving shortly
best part is, the wife gave me the go ahead for the rims for now...rubber later. so, I called and told the guy I had his $500 cash and we set up a meet...he called me back that somebody else had given him $550 and they were gone
SOB didn't even give me a chance to counter the other offer...dang it.
did you say this guy was in the military? or just guessing that he was based on a quick need to sell?
if he is in the military and pulling crap like this, i hope he finds himself answering to a captains mast....... theres just no need to screw people around (if it was an honest sale), or if they were looted, then thats a whole new can of worms !!
