roaring noise??????

roaring noise??????
our 03 Explorer XLT 4wd started making a loud roaring noise about 3 months ago... i initially thought it was the tires due to them being bad. now it has new tires on it and it still makes the noise. very loud at highway speeds. seems to be coming more from the rear. all the wheel bearings are good so it cant be from that. does anyone have an idea of what it might be? also there is a clicking noise coming from the left (driver) rear. not constant only between 5-10 mph. could that have anything to do with it? any info would be appreciated

1. check exhaust for holes
2. check your rear diff fluid...if you have metal in it you could have spun a bearing loose...not cheap my friend, hopefully you bought the extended warranty

my first thought is wheel bearings, but you say they are o.k.? dont know how you know that? second is the emergency brake shoe. since you said you have a click at low speed, i would guess the brake. you remove the wheel and then pull the brake disk. the emergency is a small shoe inside the disk. it is not uncommon for it to fall apart, make noise and road speed, and the click you hear at low speed. take it out and throw it away.
