The rubber seal on the bottom of the back doors on my crew cab is held by 5 clips.. Even though the seal looks right, the clip at one end is broken. I can stick my finger right up through it. If you apply pressurized water upward to that seal it will move and allow water to enter the vehicle. Just a thought. Thanks for the post. I plan to get that problem fixed.
So every time i get my truck washed my passenger side floor board is wet along the kicker pannel. As i drive it manages to move from right to left and then down and to the right back towards the door. It IS NOT leaking down from ANYWHERE. But where it begins from is not next to the door.
Here a pic with some drawings to show you that it defies gravity!
This is just driving it 5 min. after it getting washed you can see the old water stains and figure out how much water covers my floor board if i drive it alot after washing...
I like the propositions of leaves & trash plugging an otherwise external drain route. I've had that experience on several vehicles, one being an '85 F150 where the leaves and juniper "needles" would plug up the bottom area underneath the bottom door hinge, and water would collect and then enter through the kick panel perimeter.
Another possibility is along the lines of what Brandon suggested. I'm not sure how the external radio antenna wire enters the cab, but I've had that location be a trouble spot before as well where the water would travel along the antenna wire and then drop off at a low point loop and onto the floorbaord.
No its the front passenger floor. Sorry i did not specify. The mentioning of clogged vent drain is a good idea on the account i never noticed this before my truck died and not it is a problem. The time it was down it was parked underneath dens Eucalyptus trees!
