Hey guys I have a 79 f150 4x4 with a 400/c6. I have the open 9" and I would like a little more traction. Most driving is on the road however the truck does see mud and occasionally some snow/icey roads. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

A good limited slip would probably work well for your application.

A Power Trax locker is cheap and they work okay for on the road and off applications

you got a good axle there. the ford 9" is one of the toughest axles made and you can do alot to em since theres lots of parts available for this popular axle. I'd say a nice low gear ratio and either locker or posi would help.
