I lost my storage shed(metal) due to large limb falling out of TALL tree. I promptly moved my race trailer so nothing could get to it as it's parked next to shed.
It was getting BAD yesterday about 6pm and had me concerned with all the old trees surrounding my property(close to house and garage). Really want to get them trimmed back BAD now!
Whole surrounding area schools closed today, lots of limbs in roadway, NO rain. I still had power, though it flickered alot last evening.
well we are still without power, been running a generator off and on to keep the fridge cold.
we may not get back power till sat..
what mess this storm made of everything.
this is really beginning to suck big time.......still no power hfphm
h electric guys come out look at the tree that tookout the power lines, they say need to get the tree guys to cut it first, then the tree guys go we need to have power guys remove the power lines before they will work....arrrggg
do not get me wrong I am thankful for all they doing....but......lets both get on the same page.
I understand where you're coming from. I open the doors and windows of my house because the weather is so nice and all I can hear is chain saws. Huber Heights sets on a rise and we got hammered pretty good. We still have traffic lights not working and the schools just started back today. I consider myself extremely lucky through all this. I had just done all my grocery shopping on Wed. before the storm and because I knew Ike was going to pummel the price of gas I had ensured all 3 vehicles were full of gas. My neighborhood is young, my house is 8 years old, so we don't have any big trees close to houses and all the utilities are underground. We never lost power but some houses did suffer wind damages i.e. siding and trim. The severity of the winds caught everyone by surprise. It didn't help that the big electric companies had sent so much of their manpower and equipment to the golf coast to help out there.
No damage here but I was worried, and we didnt even loose power

Did you get power yet? Luckily my power came back up late Monday. I had to help pull a weather vane/ cupola out of one of a neighbors convertable. It was destroyed. Of course my work never lost power... dang diesel generators.

Duke has been doing the preventative tree trimming... the crews they have just destroy the tree, but yet over90% percent in the greater cincinnati area still lost power.
Just waiting to see what Duke will do to recoup their costs.
