changes to my project plans

So refining some of my plans.
The 1951 Mercury M6 cab and fenders are going to be Mickey Moused onto the 1993 International school bus that currently has a 7.3 IDI diesel. A custom classic styled car hauler will be build long enough to carry 2 1/2 ton trucks approx 35 feet of deck needed.

Since the 7.3 motor was supposed to go in my 1967 that project is obviously is capute. So I am going to take my old 1975 halfton that runs great but looks like hell. And exchanged bodies so I'll have a 1967 with power disc brakes, power steering etc. The 390 in my 1975 will recieve the racing camshaft/ and external rebuilding new carb, distrubutor etc.

So what do you figure???? Oh almost forgot to mention I'm planning on a full flip hood and fairly high cab using airbag cab mounts like a older style semi tractor.

I like the fender idea and the motor swap makes sense to me.

Ryan i think thats a great idea. Plus if you ever wanted too, you could work the truck on teh side and make a few bucks doing flatdeck work.

I just figured the bus frame and axles are way too good to scrap. The bus is the truck equivalent of a tank. every brake has 2 or 3 brake lines going to it brand new brakes and shocks was obviously upkept to high gonvernment standards it can do 100kph fairly eaisly. I'm just a little curious what the GVW is cause I want to build a fairly heavy deck/shielding and also want to be able to haul 2 Ford/ Mercury trucks at one time.

Hmm the gvw should be on there somewhere should it not? Then it would be easy to figure out from there.

When it comes to the weight that the tires can hold thats easy.

I assumed you meant you werent sure what the gvw of the vehicle though was, right?

Ya I just wasn't sure how much a bus can lug, but 2 1/2tons can't weigh that much?

No it shouldnt be too bad, like just think what a bus full of adults would be? Im sure they must be safetly rated to haul adults and have the seats full.
