Post Tach wiring 79F150

The prior owner of my truck had the tach wired wrong, and the light never turned off . One dead battery later, it was disconnected. My question is this.. The wire that comes from the tach How is it connected to power ?

There should be four wires, sometimes 5, but I am more familiar with 4. One wire is tach sense and should go the coil. One is a ground, one is switched power and the last is illumination. The illumination wire should be hooked in with the dimmer so you can turn it down, you can pick up dimmer out of the light switch.

The wire that goes to the light for the dial can be hooked up to any blue/red wire you can find under the dash. This wire feeds all the dash illumination.
