390 dizzy, coil, tach wiring Need to check this

I just wired up my dizzy, coil and tach and wanted to check my wiring before I tried to start this engine. I have the pertronixs in my dizzy. My tach has the sun super tach works in it

Coil + Red to dizzy, red to tach and red from the ignition
Coil - Black to dizzy and black to tach
Ground - green to tach

Thanks in advance, Charles

your wiring is a bit more confusing. can you clarify it a little. your tach should not be getting positive from the coil

Mike, I can not find where i put my tach wiring diagram. I think it said red wire to + on coil, black wire to - on the coil and green wire to ground. I wired the pertronixs red wire to + on the coil and black wire to - on the coil. Then I put the red wire from the ignition to + on the coil. I guess it is from the ignition it comes out of the fire wall in a bundle and I'm nearly sure it went to + on the coil. How do you think the tach should be wired? Sun Super tach works in my tach. I can call and get the info Monday but if I get it right I will start this up tomorrow. Thanks for the help

the red wire goes to a switched hot source. the green wire on mine goes to the - side of the coil the black wire gets grounded and the blue is for the light bulb.

Thanks Mike I finally found it. I,ll rewire it that way. I have one extra wire out of my ignition that is hot with the key on that I wired my electric choke to. Do you see any problem with me wiring my red wire from my tach to that?

no you can wire it up like that. but the choke should not be wired to it, the choke goes to the stator terminal on the alternator

I thought the stator only puts out 7 or 8 volts. Thats just what i read in here someplace. My New Holley instructions quote " The positive end must be connected to a good ignition actvated 12-volt source" I did this and it worked fine on my old 352.
