Its an electrical guage not mechanical. I checked the connections behind the guage and they look good. It's my assumption the guage is as old as the truck. I was unable to trace the wires to the tranny. Any diagnostic procedures and location at the tranny would be appreciated.
Thanks Dan
There has to be some type of transducer to convert the thermocouple at the tranny to the voltage for the guage. There should be a thermocouple on one of the plus near the pan.
O.K. so look around the tranny pan, look for a thermocouple ( I assume electrical, correct me if im wrong ) and check Electrical connection? Pics are helpfull as well as pages out of a service manual. I hope I don't sound like a complete moron here.
Thanks Dan
Don't worry about it. There are no morons here, just a huge family that helps each other out. Do you have a model # on the guage and maybe I can find a manual or something for you.
