It IS a C6 converter. I watched them look it up although there were several different converters for C6s listed.
I'm trying to figure out what the banging noise is about every half second after installing a rebuilt. I'll swear the noise is coming from around the bell housing.
I know the best way is to pull the thing but I'm just thinking. It's going to be some time before I can pull it again.
I'll have to did out the receipt. I've got the old one. Going to put it back in there or make sure I've got one like it if that's the problem. Hope the trans isn't ruined.
Guess I should have ordered it from the web. Got the trans & TV at the same time and their web site lists FM125 and FM128 but I know it's not either one of those. I seem to recall somethinkg like an F64 or F94 but will have to get the reciept to know for sure.
Had to track it all the way back to ATX to get the part number. They claim an F49 shipped with the transmission and he looked it up and said that was the right converter for this vehicle.
I don't think this is the engine that came in the truck. Last time I tracked down the engine stampings I believe it came from a Lincoln. The trans should be the same, don't know about the converter. Will stick the old one back in or take it with me to the store for the next one. There aren't any part numbers on the old one.
Guess I'm not going to know for sure until I pull it out again. Not going to wait till I have to stick a salamander under it to keep from freezing to death this time. LOL
