Explorer 4WD Shift Control Module

Explorer 4WD Shift Control Module
Where is the shift control module located on a 1997 Explorer? My Chiltons doesn't refer to it
I looked in 2 places behind glovebox -No and in the left wheel well(where the keyless remote control is located) - No.
Also, I have the 4WD High/4WDLow panel lites flashing 6 times about every 2 minutes. Transfer case motor stays in 4WD high postion. Will not go to the neutral (2WD position). Motor will move to the 4WD low position and back to the 4WD High. It will not go to the 2WD (4WD disengaged) position.
