there is a 1982 truck on ebay now. the interior is a lighter color than mine,is that the flash or is that considered spruce?mine is a dark green.i know that the flash can make a color look different. are there two different greens?

Do you mean this one? eBay Motors: Ford : F-150 (item 130255509565 end time Sep-22-08 12:25:18 PDT) Looks funny to me, like those panels don't match the dash.

I think the doorliners have been resprayed, & maybe the dash as well - It's all lighter than mine too

Yeah, the truck in the link you posted has definitely been resprayed with the wrong color. Spruce is much darker.

Did you come across a Flareside tailgate by any chance?

the xls has the tailgate in the back of the truck.it is straight but has rot in the bottom by the hinges. the truck also has all of the blacked out trim. it needs to be refreshed. the bumpers look to be in very good shape. the back one has a slight twist. there are several other tailgates that may be better if it doesn't have to be an xls. it also has blue door pockets in good condition.there are more step side bumpers in the yard in good shape, one looked like a factory step bumper that was not very tall.

I would be interested in a good, straight, rust free (as possible) Flareside tailgate. It doesn't have to be from that truck.

Anything from 80/91 should work. I'm building another truck and it will be a mix of parts.

I found these mint 87-91 Flareside fenders today, but the tailgate wasn't much better than the one that I already have. The rest of the bed will be built from scratch.

Wow, after some additional reading (here of course) I just realized that these Flaresides were only made for one year: 1987

I never realized that they did not offer the Flareside until 1992 again and they are substantially different.

Actually it's 80/87. Let me know if you find a good one.

I have an 80/86 but it's pretty beat, and the truck I took those 87 Flaresides off of today has one too. It will need quite a bit of work too.

i am going back to the yard this week.i will get some pictures and let you see what you think.i just don't know what shipping rates are. it's a shame because these trucks have a lot of really good parts.this yard just opened in july so most of the 40 or so trucks are complete.
