buzz test question

buzz test question

I did a buzz test on the truck and it gave me the codes.

P0267 cylinder #3 injector circuit low
P1298 faulty IDM

So what does low injector circuit mean? Is it related to the IDM code? Where should I start looking for the problem.

She runs pretty good, but I notice a little knock and uneven idle after it has warmed up. Any idea?

AB1 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs) P0261, P0264, P0267, P0270, P0273, P0276, P0279, P0282: CHECK FOR GROUND SHORT IN LOW SIDE CIRCUIT
  • DTCs below indicate a low side ground short in the circuit between the IDM and the injector. The following table lists the circuit to inspect while performing these pinpoint tests, based on the DTC retrieved during the KOEO On-Demand or Injector Electrical Self Tests.

  • Key off.
  • Disconnect injector valve cover connector at the suspect injector.
  • Measure resistance between suspect circuit of the engine harness connector and battery negative post.
Is resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

I might suspect a burned or shorted wire either under the valve cover ,or where the main harness crosses the L head ...

The rear pin in the valve cover harness conector closest to the driver seat is toast. I wouldn't think that would be the #3 cylinder.

What is the cylinder order for these engines?

What is the L head?

Sorry for all the newbie questions

That's awesome info Action! L head = left head sounds like the wiring under the valve covers I would check them all you can ohm the glow plugs and the injectors without pulling the valve covers to verify bad wires bet you have more than one bad harness and some burnt wires behind the connectors on the harness

Starting with the front on the passenger side they are 1-3-5-7 and of course 2-4-6-8 are on the left.
