trans gauge

I was looking into buying gauges soon and can't decide if i want to get a 4 hole a-pillar setup or not for the trans gauge. I hear you guys say alot of how worthless the stock gauge is, but my gauge seems to move alot and not stay in one spot all the time like i here you guys say. if its a cool day or normal freeway driving it sits about 1/4 of the way. if its hot and i'm running around town it sits in the middle. Do you still think i need the aftermarket gauge? also where does the aftermarket gauge connect to? does it take over where the factory gauge gets a signal from and factory lays dead?

Here is where the sensor goes for the trans gauge. Easy as pie. click here

EDIT: The gauge in the dash is not worth watching.

I agree.. the stock gauge is useless in my truck.. My Autometer gauge is way better and more sensitive to temp changes !! My a-pillar has boost, egt, and dp tuner in it... my trans gauge and voltage gauge are in the overhead pod !

Good luck !

There's a pressure test plug on the driver side of tranny. You just remove that plug and replace it with the temp sensor probe. Will not affect the stock gauge. I don't kow about the stock gauge because I don't have one, but the after market gauge will show the actual temp.

Trans temp is a must, but whether you do it or not I would go with a 4 hole pillar, so you can add future gauges.

I only have the 3 gauge pillar and am wishing I had got the 4 gauge.

I just put the 4 hole pillar in with autometer ultra lites. Really like them glad I made the right choice.

Agreed with the above posts.... I went with the 4 pod mount with 3 gauges and am waiting on the funding (it's a little tight right now) for a DP tuner.

The Isspro kit from Diesel Manor is awesome! A little cheaper then DiProcal.
ISSPRO Gauge Kits for Ford Powerstroke from DieselManor

Some say the DiProcal kit is better... doesn't have the amplifier (or whatever) boxes on it. But mine mounted nice and neat and I am VERY happy!

Man, I can't wait to fill that 4th hole!!! Just ask when ordering for the 4 gauge mount!

Dang and I thought I had a mess of wires under my access panel! What's the scoop on the "Ford Vehicle Security System" module?

Hey, at least it's a organized mess! I did it as clean and neat as could be done I think. Honestly, I don't know much about it. Maybe I should read the instructions!!! I know if I try unlocking and opening the door with the alarm set it starts beeping at me. I gotta use the remote to unlock. Besides that... worthless unless I am missing something. I cut out my stock exhaust with it armed and it never went off! Maybe I gotta adjust the sensitivity.
