If I have the tranny out is it easy to get to the pressure regulator to replace the factory springs with the red ones from ESE. Or do I have to take the tranny apart to do that.
The spring is in the pump in the front of the trans. It would be relatively easy with the trans already out. Did you install the rest of the ESE yet? I just ordered mine this week.
You can do 95% of it with the trans in the truck just like a VB mod. They say in the directions that unless the trans is out don't worry about the Pump portion.

OK, what is the VB mod? At first I thought 'the cure' fixed my problem but ITS BACK! At light throttle just after TC lock my trans will shift to OD just for a half second then back to third gear. Same thing happened after the TW install, no problems for a while then ITS BACK! Will the eseliminator or VB or both help? Under heavier throttle it shifts fine. Thanks, Glenn

Yes I have had my ese in for about a year now, Works great. only thing I don't like is the down shift from about 45 to 40 when slowing down my chip down shifts and the tc is locked, I feels like someone pushes the brakes and slows to about 35 without using the brakes. I put all the harder springs in, But have not changed the springs in the pressure regulator. Now I have my tranny out for a torque converter from racerX, And fixing my turbo Y pipe leak.
Do you know what exactly I have to do to find the pressure regulator springs?
ya, sounds like the chip needs to be coordinated with the ESE.
so what is the pump portion of the kit that would be missing?
Actually the chip really should not matter. The ESE takes the chip out of the equation for setting line pressure. So it really won't matter either as far as I know.

Is it only one time when the trans fl is cold ?...
