Accelerator Pump 79 Bronc

How do you replace the accelerator pump on a 79 Bronco, 400, with 2150 two-barrel carb? How do you tell it is bad? Sometimes the carb will spray fuel then othertimes when I move the throttle by hand nothing comes out. When I loosened the 4 screws that hold the cover for the diaprahm on fuel started coming out, I didnt think fuel was supposed to be in that area? Thanks for any help.

Not a lot of fuel will come out of there. Remove those 4 screws and replace it. Very simple to do.

I took it out today, it looked ok I couldnt see any cracks it was still very pliable. Should I replace it or should I look for some other problem with my carb?
