Congrats.

Lost one.

Dad shot one about a week ago. 4-pt buck. Crossbow. Beautiful shot. Terrific blood trail for about 75 yards, and then one great big blood pool where the deer had stopped or let go.

Then.......

Nothing.........

Ashley, I ended up helping him out. We were still about 75 yards from the nearest gravel road or driveway (maybe 100).......Looked for almost five hours (daytime)! Never found the GD deer, or any more blood spots! It's like the GD thing flew away!

One thing I hate about hunting with a bow......

I never lost a deer with a gun. Never.

Have you ever lost a deer on a track after a bow shot? Dude, I'm talking that was obviously a good lung shot too!!!!!

Pretty depressing day, that was.

knock on wood, I've never lost a whitetail at all! I did however lose a Blacktail in Washington state. I had the same thing happen, good shot with a 300wsm at about 250yrds I had a great blood trail for about 65 yrds to a river and then poof nothing the guide and I looked for 2 days. he said that a bear could have found it first and carried it off. he said I got off a great shot and the deer should not have made it to the river, but s#$t happens. I got the chance to shoot another two days later that was bigger than the one I lost. he scored 129 , a damn huge blacky

my dad got-r-done today, check him out boys. this big boy decided to take an early afternoon stroll at like 2:15 today. I guess there's something to that deer move during the day with a bright moon...my dad shot this deer with a Ten point crossbow behind his house in Midland, he ran about 100yrds then expired at the edge of a small pond.
