I just want to make sure that a bunch of guys talking about bowhunting in the North Carolina Chapter are not confused with a bunch of guys arguing politics or social issues in Club FTE.
Guys in the chapter forums and/or tech forums pretty much keeps faaaaaarrrrrrr away from stuff like that........
As a matter of fact, I took your first post with humor. I mean, c'mon....read the headline......'BOWhunter shoots self in foot with PISTOL'......I hope it wasn't a 'silenced' pistol......that would look kind of suspicious.....
And that is exactly why I ONLY hunt private property. 5 years ago I was coming out of some public land in Montgomery county, NC and walking out on the rutted logging trails, I come around the bend, look up at a known tree stand and see a guy with his gun leveled on me. I said never again...not gonna risk an accident.
I do not blame you at all.
I enjoy hunting just like anyone else..But I rather be in Bagdad then to be in the woods with some of these idiots..
This hunter that shot him self reminds me of Barney Fife
And that is exactly why I ONLY hunt private property.
ditto.
and the guy mighta been using the scope to get a closeup.....but that's why one should carry binocs......aiming a scoped rifle is very bad form, not to mention unsafe.....finger on the trigger or not.....
Just wait until some **^&%$# try's to take your game away! 4 years ago my brother and I were Elk hunting on a friends land. I had just shot a 4 point bull and was gutting it when 2 guys walked up on me. One of them said that it was his elk, I told him it was not his elk cause I'd just shot it from 50 yards away! He said "you don't understand, that's my elk" and cocked his gun and pointed it at me!!! I told him that my brother had something to say about that, and they started laughing........The joke was on him, My brother was behind them with his 44 mag pointed at them! He had been taking a "dump" behind them in the treeline, and they never saw him until it was to late. We took their guns AND their boots, and left them there. Went to the local sheriff and told him the story, and handed him their guns. Sheriff called 2 months later and told me to come and get the guns, they never came back! I've got a nice 7mm Remington and a nice 30:06 out of it.................

I've been there, I hunted opening day on the Alcoa game lands about 6 years ago. when the sun came up I felt like I had took a seat in a pumkin patch with all the orange hats and vest around me. I climbed down and left at sunup. one deer ,five hunters within 50 yrds = who's gonna shoot?
I wish that everyone keeps safe out there and stay alert..
It can be a Jungle out there
We ain't like you northeast Yankees, or Left Coast Starbucks-sippers.......We don't try to steal game or shoot each other or ourselves down in these-here parts.......
