Wow, that's cool. Will be very interested to see the progress of this.

I think its great people are taking the initiative to learn how to tune. It is something you have to be dedicated to.................................... There were alot of the original version mislabled and it took Jody alot of time to figure out what was wrongly mislabled. So when people say that Jody uses the same thing that everyone else does it makes me chuckle. The base may be the same, but his is his and theirs is theirs.
And I hope that I have not offended you in any way. I re-read my original post and decided that it may have been kind of harsh (the pirated part). I in no way meant that as a direct hit to ANY of the current tuners as this information has been out of Ford for quite some time.....but the info came from somewhere back in the day........

As for the making a business out of it and enjoying it because of the people along the way....GREAT JOB!! I wish I could say the same for my career choice! It's a cold day in July when someone says that they love their job!

Cody,

Jody was a 20 year career man in the IT field when he decided to take a leap of faith on this we call his hobbyjob. It can be done. And trust me there's alot to be found in the 7.3. There is alot left to be ventured.

No offense taken. If you need anything let us know.

I think the sniper is a DIY whereas the DP is set up the way you want it.

The MAIN difference between DP Tuner and Sniper is that with DP Tuner you are dealing with a PROFESSIONAL business and a man who has been dedicated to tuning for quite a few years (since 2001 I think don't quote me) and makes a living doing it. He has experience with most every tuning aspect of the 7.3 and tuning for various customer needs. He is AWESOME at what he does and has a cult-like following. Proven programs, excellent customer service, and the available F-5 switcher which is light-years ahead of what others are using (archaic rotary switches) make DP Tuner great.

Sniper on the other hand sells tunes that work but aren't very refined....you can change a few parameters as you desire, but just selecting from a drop-down menu can only give you so much "refinement". The only way to REALLY get what you want is to get the full-on Delta Force program.

I'll PM you hondaquad19 in a little while concerning your shifting......gotta get back to work.

The difference is Sniper sells you a complete tuning package. Heck we use to, but chose to go a different route with our buinsess. We wanted to be specialized in one aspect to the aftermarket industry. That was and still is our main focus. Many years later after finding a source to work with us on devloping our own products,we met a software designer we can work with on devolping our own tuning software. It will be totally different from the PCMX platform. We offer Jody's tuning on our hardware, as with Sniper you buy there chips and use their software that allows you to make changes to base files.

Is there any way to run Sniper on a computer hooked to the truck with DP Tuner chip (or anything else for that matter) and then read the parameters and fuel tables that jody sets, and thus modify it to suit the individuals liking?

I can answer that with 4 letters.

NOPE.

Sniper software works on encrypted hex values. That means that you can't take the standard hex code and run it in the Sniper-brand program or put it on a TS/Sniper chip.
