My '77 Dodge 3/4 ton had a Dana 70 with left hand threads on one side. Just like teh big rigs with 10 stud budd wheels.
Funny you say that, alot of our package trucks and semis are like that only on the buds. We had a new guy come in one time and he was going to change the tires. He got the big 1" gun and starting hammering away at it and couldn't figure out why they were stripping loose till someone told him. Then he had to cut them off to get the wheel off and pull the hub to change the studs. Ok, I guess I better get back on topic. Sorry

Was your Dana 70 a dually?
That's wierd too. I've had a boatload of '70s Dodges and never had a LH thread. My Cummins has a rear 70 with RH threads and the rear dually 70 in my Ramcharger (I use it as a SRW) came out of a '75 and it's RH thread too.
I better watch out on the Dodges too, I never would have even thought it would be LH'd. I'd have broken all of those studs off for sure!
your truck is coming along great, i did the same swap a few years ago and now in swaping the bady again to the 1993 and up body style so if ya have any questions i may be able to help. as for your wheels you can just swap some right hand thread studs into the axle with the left hand studs and then you can use the wheels you want with normal lugnuts. keep up the good work

Thanks, I haven't run into anything yet that has stumped me. I still need to tear the dashes apart in both cabs and swap the wiring over...that is a job I am just dreading. I'm sure it won't be that bad, it's just that part of the build I don't want to do.
Just waiting on parts, got the flywheel turned, pick that up tomorrow and anyday the turbo and clutch should show up via UPS.
when i swapeed mine thw fierts time the cab i put on was a 1988 f150 and my truck was a 1987 f250 all i did was reuse the under complete harness from under the hood headlights and all. i just pluged it into the conector that was already on the gas cab, i then swapped out the gauge clusters all my gauges worked even the tach. mine was already manual glow plugs though so i didn't have to worry about that. might help ya dependin on what your plans are.
I wish I could do that. The F150 donors wiring is a mess. The reason I got it so cheap was that it originally had the carb'd 300 in it, the previous owner attempted to swap over a FI 302. Let's just say he had no idea what he was doing. He got frustrated with it and just decided to unload it....lucky me.
If those rims are 16.5" you may want to go tire shopping before you decide to go with them. I think its pretty hard to find E load rated tires for a 16.5" rim.
the mags are 16.5". I have been keeping my eyes out for a different set so I don't have to find those special lug nuts. Good call on the tires though, I'll check into that.
