I have a 2003 6.0 that has intermitten smoking??? I have changed the EGR valve and freed up the slip ring/ vane control ring in the turbo. It seems to smoke when ever it wants too?? Sometimes with a load (30' toyauler) sometimes just the truck. It looks as if the smoke is just falling out not being pushed even though the booter pressure goes up? The water temp also runs higher when the smoking occurs? I have an Edge with monitor and I have never set it over 3 and when towing I set it at 2 (Tow). It does not take any coolant and runs fine most all of the other times. It does seem a bit more sluggish at low RPMs weither it is smoking or not. I got a code today of U0105? The rest of the time there have not been any other codes other than cooling fan, FICM low voltage or Cruise control lamp circuit DTC's.
