Front console for '03 CC

I want to replace the middle front seat with a console on my '03. Any suggestions on where to find one? I am also checking locally for a junker that might have one, nothing I can find on ebay.

Thanks for any help on this,
Dan

I'd try this site if it was myself.

www.car-part.com

Can search by year make model. It's a collection of various salvage yards inventory.

Good Luck..

Get one of the 2008 Center consoles. There are lots of them on Ebay, just make sure you get one with the mounting brackets. Far superior to the old style console and simple installation.

I don't know if the 08 center consoles will fit if you have the bucket seats with arm rests. Can anyone confirm?

They will fit , but if you try to move the seats all the way forward the armrests will rub the 08 console lid.

You can leave the armrests on and don't let short people drive it , JUST KIDDING!! Or you can remove the armrests and put a patch over the small hole (or not). I installed a set of factory 2008 Seat Leather which didn't have the holes for the armrests.

Can you still raise the lid without it touching if the seats are about halfway back?

You can raise the lid about 3/4 of the way with out touching. It will still open all the way but will rub a little on the armrests. Doesn't jam or damage anything etc.

I used mine this way for about a week or so before getting the 08 Leather, and even with my wife (5'6") driving on a trip or 2 it wasn't really a problem.

Does it bolt to the floor in the same spot as the original console or to the seat bottoms. Where did you get the 08 Leather from. I am thinking of addding WetOakle seat covers but if the Leather is more affordable I will do that instead.

You unbolt the front and rear "inboard" seat mounting bolts, slide the console brackets under the seat brackets and bolt it all back down. VERY easy.

I got a special deal on mine from an Ebay seller after calling him directly. I only paid $200for the complete front/rear set. FYI, that is not a typo. He didn't know they would fit the 2007 and earlier seats, now that he knows for sure his price has gone up.. BUT still a heck of a deal. Last time I saw a set from him on Ebay they were $449 with free shipping. These are real Genuine Ford Factoy Seat Leather in perfect new condition and he is a great guy to deal with. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

He has a black leather set listed there now...

Thanks for the fast reply,

I guess I will stick with the Wet Oakle covers as they will be cheaper now that you let the cat out of the bag.

How much did the 08 leather cost? I hadn't thought about that being an option.

Thats the only set he has right now, as previously posted link, and its 249.00 higher than what he paid. Still not a bad deal if it would match your truck. If you call ford one front seat complete leather cover kit is almost the same price. I will keep watching his site and hopefully I will see a grey set to get my hands on. I will tuck them away for a rainy day.

Sarge,

Black seats would look darn good with a grey interior. You already have a lot of black interior trim and black seats would tie it all together.

I just finished doing a 2-tone interior roof panel update on my 350 and it turned out great! Mine has the tan interior so I got new black sunvisors and all the black grab handles etc from a Harley Version. The contrast really pops and it ties in with all the black accents on the doors and dash.

Luckily I can blame it on my wife because she wanted lighted sunvisors since my XLT didn't have them. Since I was gonna get new sunvisors with lights in them I decided to get the black ones (mainly because of my dirty paw prints) and it snowballed from there. Having the black grab handles also helps with them not looking dirty all the time like my tan ones did.. yes Mom, I know I should wash my paws more often :-)
