Anyone know off the top of their head if there is a passenger car rotor that will fit a 78 f-150 2wd? I want the small pattern for wheel selection. I can't imagine anyone has done this, but I guess it's worth a shot.
for the 5x4.5 there are mustangs, crown vics, towncars, rangers, explorers, jeeps....what will fit tho, im not sure......wouldnt you need to change more than just your rotors tho?
yeah the hub, or have it redrilled for the new pattern. you'd have to check to see if you can swap a hole hub off something else but you'll have to make sure the spindle size is the same, or go to a real good bearing guy who can help you with differnet sized inner races to fit your spindle and an outter race to fit the different hub. also chrysler cars have 5 on 4.5 but if you rob some of them be mindful of the older ones had left had thread on one side of the car.

Ford used the same 5.50" bolt pattern from 1953 thru 1979 on all F100's. Thru 1980/83 on some F100's, from 1975 thru 1996 on F150's.
From 1969 thru 2003 on Econoline E100/150's. From 1966 thru 1996 on Bronco's.
You mean to say you can't find enough different styled wheels to fit this bolt pattern? There must be 100's of different types!
From Ford alone, there's prolly at least 50.
Some 1980/83 F100's have a 4.50" bolt pattern, but passenger car wheels cannot be used on these models because they won't clear the calipers.
I doubt you can use these 4.50" rotors/wheels on a 1979 or earlier F100/150. While it may look the same, the entire front suspension is different on these 4.50" F100's.
you may not be able to have it redrilled, the hub pilot will be too big and there may not be enough there to lathe it down. dont know for sure but its something to check. one thing i thought of is if you find and old AMC, spirit or gremlin they had the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern and the spindles bolted on with 4 bolts in a nice sqaure pattern, i have 2 of these kicking around somewhere that i used in a tow dolly. a lot of them were drum brake but a few were disk.. the ones i have are disk off of a spirit. that may be helpful to you.
I'll figure something out. I'll probably end up playing games with bearings and races. I was hoping to avoid that. The reason for all this is that the wheels I want are not available in 5x5.5 I have been waiting for a few years for that to change, but it wont apparently. I'll stick with the steelies for now until the rest of the truck is sorted out.
check with the guy on this forum with the tubbed red 1979 pickup truck he told me he had a machine shop redrill his hubs and they chared him 25.00 per hub and he went with the 5x5 chey bolt pattern his user name on here is MWVdub
