climate control not working

anyone ever have problems with their selecter switch not working (99 F150)..it seems as though all i have working is the defroster position.. or should i say that is the only place that has air blowing out..i have heat and cooling but cannot get the dash vents-floor vents-dash/floor etc..to work or "switch over"
anyone have this same thing come up before?
is their some sort of solinoid that has gone bad or possibly the switch it self?
hate to start throwing cash to the wrong parts...
any help is greatly appriciated

well i repaired the vaccum lines that were chewed thru, and still nothing as far as being able to switch from panel to defroster to floor etc....so i removed the cowling under the wipers somewhat just to take a quick look down into the fresh air intake ....
looks like a perfect path for a chipmonk to follow..
there is a plastic grating that had been chewed thru and i can see what appears to be some sort of vaccum line just behind the opening, couldn't see it real well though.i'm really hoping that i can even get my hand on it to see if it had been chewed thru as well...i have a feeling that it has been...but with the name murphy its not going to be easy to get to
i might be able to go in thru the blower hole under the dash

i was wondering if anyone has any vaccum diagrams of the climate control or pictures of the inside of the plenum?( i guess thats what it would be called) assembly. i'll try looking myself
thanks

No Heat from dash or floor

I have a 2004 F250 super duty with the same problem.
I found the problem yesterday after looking everywhere.
<OUnder the hood on the passenger side just behind the battery mounted on the fender well you will find a vacuum pulse solenoid with a electrical connector on top and two vacuum lines connected on the lower section of the solenoid, one side has a black line that feeds the locking hubs and the red side feeds the heater control valve behind the glove box.<O
My problem was found about 8 or 10 inches up on the red line, it had a plastic tee connecting 3 lines together with a crack in it letting out the vacuum pressure.<O

For $2.31 at the hardware I fixed it and now after one cold winter I am ready for this winter.<O</O
I was told that if it was open for a long time the vacuum pulse solenoid may go bad but I was lucky. Good luck!<O
