That coolant filter is just an oil filter, right? Could I just get an oil filter relocation kit and a T, and just use that as the coolant filter?? I can get this from Jeg's for $16.99, better than $100! It doesn't come with a T or hoses, but they aren't that much. Perma-Cool 1213 - Perma-Cool Single Remote Oil Filter Mount - JEGS
Also, instead of running a T, could I run it in one side and out the other, to filter all of the coolant, or would this hinder the flow enough to cause it to overheat.

There have been some members on here that have made their own. Try searching the forums, it's been a while and I can't remember. You have to install it as a bypass or it will restrict the flow of coolant. I don't know the specifics between a coolant filter and an oil filter but when I purchase mine at Carquest they call it a coolant filter and you have to make sure it is a non charged filter. Hope this helps.
Some coolant filters have tablets in them which are an additive. These are not good for our cooling systems. The filters without the tablets are the ones we need and they are non charged filters.
You want filters that do not contain SCA's. It is an additive for heavy duty trucks. The filters are specifically designed for coolant. Do not use an oil filter for coolant. A definite no, no.
I don't know if this helps but I'm getting the Baldwin filters for about the same price as the oil filters. There only 10 - 12 bucks anyway, Why wouldn't you use the right one.

The Non Charged Baldwins are the ones that DieselSite.com sells for the coolant filter set. I have been using filters from Carquest part# 89070, they also will work. Here are some more part #'s from other Brands:
Napa #4070, Wix 24070, Baldwin, B5134, and Fleetguard Wf2077

The filter base that your link goes to has a 13/16-16 stud and will not fit the coolant filters that everyone is using. What you need is the baldwin cfb5000 eBay Motors: Coolant Filter Base Baldwin CFB5000 (item 270096142939 end time Sep-24-08 13:08:38 PDT). It has a 11/16-16 stud. Some people have mentioned getting a filter base from NAPA, but when I went to my local NAPA and asked them, they had no idea what I was talking about.
You need to have a "t" in the line because this is a bypass filter. If your filter gets totally ecluded it won't affect the rest of your system. If you just put it in line and it gets clogged then something will not be getting the flow that it requires.
My kit didn't come with the shut off valves for filter changes. I'm just pinching off the hoses at the filter base so far, but I'd rather put the valves in. Does anyone have the specs on those valves. I can probably just get them locally.
for the filter base, I found the local truck shop has them for sale for $24 (Baldwin CFB5000) and the B5134 filters for $7 each. Now all I need is a couple T's, heater hose and a few clamps.
