lifting question

Hi-
Get a 3" body lift, you can do it for around a 100(Read my post about the steering shaft though-seriously). The body bolts that give you any kind of trouble at all cut off with a Sawzall. You might want to modify your fan shroud. The rear bumper is easy, use one frame hole thats already there and drill one new hole(on each side framerail) to move it up. The front can be done with fancy aftermarket bumper brackets, or you can do what I did. Cut the bumper horns off the frame clean, then weld them back on 3 inches higher. Fabricate and weld plate on them to triangulate it. The bumpers gotta be moved otherwise the truck looks retarded.
Some people hate the look of the extra space between the body and the frame. I love it. You can work on everything easier and you can pressure wash mud off of it easier. You can also always buy or make those gap guards. You'll be able to run 35's with 3 inches of lift, but not in a Chevy

lifting question

pbrstreetg,
Did you have any problems with the stick shifter for the transfer case or for the transmission being too short?
What year truck did you do it on?
I'll try to find your post about the steering shaft.
Thanks,
-Lars-

lifting question

actually the luv rescued the ford a while back. the ford had a half ton of dirt in the bed and a trailer whith landscaping gear on it that wieghs about 1200lbs. And guess what yup the luv towed the ford and the trailer 25miles back home. Ill admit that the engine was abit warm and the clutch hated me for it but it did it.
I realy dont like doing body lifts, i like the advantage of more travel you get whoth a suspension lift. Anybody use the roughcountry 4" lift, i know they make good lifts for chevys so i might try it.
