never had any drone with flowmasters. been running them for about 20 years now. But like with anything else the installation is what matters alot. Mine strong mean under acceleration but quiet right out once you are up to speed. I have gone with true duals from the front cats back. Installer welded 2 mufflers side by side and put on 3" slanted tips angled towards the ground about 45 degrees.
I have 2 performance curve 1 chambers. They are just like the series 10 flow but half the price. Check out my clip. Thats headers, straight pipe, 1 chambers with turndowns.
Im looking for good flow and quiet (maybe a little hum). I dont want a loud and obnoxious exhaust. I dont want the world to know I have 500 horses under the hood.
Well now everyone on FTE knows. Word will spread fast.

I've had my Dynomax Super Turbo on Clyde for 10 years now. I sure don't want to have to listen to nasty exhaust for hours on end when towing and working the engine. Loud enough to listen to and enjoy but now annoying like a lot of the pipes I hear. Very nice tone when downshifting and decelerating. More low and mellow than loud and sharp .... and NO snap, crackle and pop. Don't need it.
It's seen PLENTY of heat as evidenced by the heatblued 4 X 18 chrome tip and more than a few backfires that would have blown up other mufflers. If and when I redo the exhaust from 2 1/2 to 3" I will likely go with another Dynomax.

The dual outlet super 44 I have on my 2003 f350 xl 5.4 sounds deep and not too loud, and doesn't pop or sound raspy at all. I do have the huge factory cat still intact, though, which really mellows the tone down. So I don't believe flowmaster is all that bad, it only has a bit of interior resonance at really low rpms and is barely noticeable at highway speeds.
thanks for the ideas everyone. I went with a cherry bomb extreme. Pretty much what I was looking for. Nice rumble at idle and LOUD when on the skinny pedal!!
I know it's sacrilege here but does anyone know what muffler Dodge uses stock? It has a good rumble but not too loud. I am looking for something along those lines that doesn't have that dragster cackle or will drown out all reality on the highway!
