I've been having problems with my Horn. It would work sometimes and not work sometimes for a while. Then it stopped working all together. So this past weekend I got under there and wiggled some wires around hoping it was just a loose connection and nothing. Now this morning i lock my truck and to my surprise my horn worked! My assumption at this point is that it's just a loose connection. Is there anyway to replace the connector on the horn? Is this a part i can buy or will i have to take it to the dealer? MY horn is a vital piece of equipment for me driving in rush hour traffic every day. Sometimes the finger just doesn't give me the outlet i need! LOL! Thanks in advance for any input.
Chances are that the horn itself in no good. Just disconnect it and check for pwr. and gnd. while operating the horn. If they are both present, replace the horn. There are replacement connectors avail. from your local Ford dealer also. Good Luck.
Man! the horn is an integral part of driving in Mississippi. I'm amazed at the NEED these days.
I dont know what it is, but, I bought my truck 8/1/08 I've had more people pull out in front
of me or over in my lane than in more than 8 years of driving my '74 Bronco.
Anyway, a volt meter will tell you a good bit.
It may be obvious but, if its the horn itself, volts'll be there.
If its wiring a wiggle may expose the connection that needs attention.
Thanks for the replies. Going to test it with a volt meter this weekend. I agree on the use of the horn. I have people constantly pulling in front of me or into my lane. It's not exactly a small truck or hard to see!
